My name is Casey I live in North Texas, I currently use an offset makers mark, hand-me-down from father in law. I hope to be getting a new vertical smoker, probably the meat locker from big hat bbq, its in my price range. I'm stuck in a rut all I ever do is smoke a brisket or ribs. So I'm hoping to get some new ideas, and maybe some new recipes. and mabe some advice on the next smoke I purchase.

Welcome Casey, i am sure you will like the forum and newsletters on the main site.

I am sure you will get lots of input, I just started smoking a few weeks ago and I am enjoying it. Although I am new to smoking i am not not new to grilling. Definitely not new to cooking. I love food, all kinds of food, from all different parts of the world as well.

I have a charcoal smoker and an MES30 (Masterbuilt Electric Smoker 30inch), already. Plus a few gadgets.  Try Jeffs Jerky, its one of the first things I tried, last week i made about 3.5 pounds of it , gone in about a  day and a half, my son, daughter and i ate all of it. Everyone i have let try it has said its the best Jerky they have ever eaten..

Hello and good morning from beautiful and cooler  East Texas, welcome to the forum. Lots of great information and real good people here.

Nothing wrong with brisket and ribs, but I get what you are saying, If you have brisket down, most everything else will be easy, Try a pork Butt next time, and throw on some chicken leg quarters.
