Newb from Tulsa

Hello from Tulsa,

Names Chris and i have been poking around the forums for a while and finally got a reason to join.

Got a hand me down Brinkmann Pro Series 4675 from my aunt and uncle as they got a new grill.
I have not grilled in years and this is a reason to start grilling again, so i say i am a beginner again at this stuff.

Today i finally fired her up let her heat up to 675 and cleaned the grill surface. Still looks in great shape for being 10yrs old.

Tonight i am going to try my first attempt at a smoke/grill. I have some  thin chicken breast that has been marinating for 30 some odd hours. I normally just cook it in the oven but its 100 out and dont need any heat in the house. Still trying to poke around to see what best way is but from what i am getting is just to soak the wood chips for about 30min, place on vapor bar and put grate back on and fire up the one burner until it smokes then turn to med and place food near it but not over the direct burner. Then get heat to about 275 until food is cooked. Does this sound about right?

I am really wanting to get a MB40 but it is only me and im not ready to fork out the money for one right now. So this hopefully will start me off until im ready.

I hope to learn a lot while enjoying some good eats.
