Afternoon SMF.   Name is Dustin and I live in Texas.  I have been smoking meat for quite a few years.  Started by watching my grandfather when i was little......I'm hooked!!!  But i see there is still a lot more i can learn from you guys.

First smoker was a 250 gallon propane tank.

Second was a much smaller custom made, about 4 briskets.

Now i want to build a smaller one to put in the back yard.  Both of the previous take way too much wood for just one brisket.

Regards Dustin

Hey Dustin, and welcome from a fellow Texan (East Texas) what part of the state do you live in?  There are a few builds going on right now you can follow, one just starting with a really small tank. Looking forward to you future post and pictures.

Hi Gary.

I'm close to Greenville.  I'll have to check out these new builds.  I'm still kicking a few ideas around on what exactly i want to do.

Welcome from Canada, Dustin.

I will be good to have another experienced smoker on the forums. I look forward to learning from your posts.

Not to far from me, I saw someone post on here about a BBQ cook off real soon around Ft. Worth I can't seem to find the post, you can probably put it in your search engine and find it. That way you will see lots of smokers for ideas and get to eat a lot of Q. here is a member that is going to build a small unit ( 25 gal Perfect Patio Reverse Flow Smoker  )  should be interesting to watch.

Yeah wish I could go....but way to busy.
We'll be headed to Canton this upcoming weekend. I'm looking for wagon wheels....and everything my wife wants!!! But I have a feeling the wheels will be WAY over priced.
