Wood Fired Pizza/Bread Oven build

I've been tossing around the idea of building a Wood Fired Pizza Oven outside to add to my outdoor kitchen, in Florida we use the grill and smoker all the time. I've found lots of info on the net, but I'm wondering if it will become just a big heavy Chiminea after using it a few times,,, does anyone out there have any experience with building and maintaining an oven like this? Do you think it will add or detract home resale value??

Thanks for your input!

Here's the most gorgeous pizza oven I've ever seen:

Scarbelly is no longer with us but I know he used to use this almost every weekend and had some great parties around it. I think it's worth looking at and anyone who hasn't seen it should.

Thanks,,,

That is a beauty,,, I'm thinking of a smaller more portable oven that can be moved if needed. Maybe on wheels,, I don't have a lot of room, a small area under the pool cage is about it. I'm thinking of an igloo style, does anyone else have one? Are they too small to be functional ??

You should check out  "Build your own earth oven" by Kiko Denzer. It's full of info and ideas. I used it when I built my oven 4 years ago. We've had some great pizza parties  and everyone likes to get involved "creating" their own custom pizzas.

This was built as taster for a bigger oven to be positioned elsewhere in the garden and used mostly recycled items, the only things I bought was some coach bolts and paint. Still haven't got round to making Mark 2 yet. Graeme.
