Well, I got a Smokey Mountain 32" Electric smoker today along with a shipment of 4 GOSM Big Blocks that are going out to clients.
I love what Landmann has done with packaging over the last few years. When I first started ordering from them the packaging was for retail and not eCommerce. The new packaging on all the units have been drop tested to meet the requirements set by UPS to be shipped individually.
The unit came packaged nicely with everything secured to prevent it from moving during shipment.
I unpacked all the parts and laid them out. Everything was easily identifiable.
Assembled fairly easily The for the handle on the chip/water drawer is a little tight to get to but is doable. Everything looks to be fairly heavy duty. Only draw back I have seen is the handles are all plastic. So I will be keeping an eye on that.
This unit comes with a built in meat thermometer, I loaded up the unit and set the cook time for 2 hours at 225 deg. started smoking 20 minutes in and got to 225 after 45 mins. Nice TBS . I will pick something up from the store tomorrow and give a test.
The Landmann site list retail at $450, Sam's Club had these units for $319 and Home Depot has them for $369.
After assembling and curing the cabinet I would say, it is a nice little unit for the price. I will keep you update on how it holds up long term,
Keep the TBS going.
