I'm smoking a 9 pound boston butt this evening into the morning. I'm going to let it rest and pull it as usual. Then here comes my question. I'm taking it with me as I travel to Philadelphia Wednesday evening. It will take me about 5 hours. So should I try to keep it in a cooler and keep it cool or keep in it a cooler and keep it warm until I get there and then put it in a refrigerator??? I mean I can put the pan on ice to keep cool.. or should I time it so the resting time is during my travels? Please help!!!

If you can time it so you put the butt in the cooler wrapped in towels and hit the road immediately you should be ok. If it is ready earlier, pull it and put on ice. Reheat when ready to eat.
