What is your favorite War Movie.

I have enjoyed so many, I couldn't name 10% of them, and I have seen most of them numerous times, however IMO none equal "Sgt York".

Sgt York was the most decorated Hero of WW1, played by Gary Cooper.

I just did a search on my DVR, and it appears as though it isn't on TV this Memorial Day weekend, and I was all ready to watch it again.

If there is anyone out there who never saw it, you really must----It's Awesome!!!

So what is your favorite War Movie???

All those are great movies...I'll add 4 of my favorites:

The Sands of Iwo Jima

The Green Beret

(yes I'm big John Wayne fan)

Platoon

M*A*S*H

It's too hard for me to pick just one.

I like Sgt. York and The Dirty Dozen , I remember as a kid watching both of those movies at my Grandma's house when i was a kid .

Midway is still my all-time favorite.

And it's not really a movie per se, but the Band of Brothers miniseries is another favorite.

Patton is a favorite. Though not movies, I really enjoy shows like Battle 360° that use computer graphics to recreate historic sea and air battles.

Love Patton and the Green Berets.....but there is another one that I like too.....dont laugh.....Dr. Strangelove

Watched all of the old war movies groing up in the 50's and 60's too many to name, but Saving Pvt. Ryan is pretty well made and then of course both the mini series Band of Brothers and Pacific are probably my favorites. Letters from Iwo Jima by Clint Eastwood was well made too. Watced them all and still do when they come on from time to time. Sgt York's and Audie Murphy's life's movies are still right up there with the best of 'em.

I agree with all the movies listed so far but my personal favorite has got to be The Deer Hunter . It's listed as a drama but has a plenty of war scene . It's only about 4 hrs long but well worth the time .

Saving private Ryan is awesome too ....
