PS - wonder how long we would smoke it at 225* instead of baking at 425*?  Might have to smoke for a bit and finish off at 425 to set the crust?

You could do the crust in the regular oven and then make it...plop in the smoker.  That could work!

My boys are going to love this one! May have to give this a whirl while smoking pork butts this weekend!

I agree with setting the crust in the oven then moving on to the smoker. But remember I am no baker and since my crust maker is going out of town for a girls weekend, I'll be using frozen crust!

Nuttin wrong with a frozen crust...I use them.  That is what I would do...don't need a soggy crust on something that looks this good.

There is in our house! The mere mention of frozen crust and I get the glare!

Bet this pie would be great with pulled pork or burnt ends in it...
 
Yep, gonna do this - I think I'll skip the crust though. 

Maybe make Steph's recipe or my Amped Up Mac & Cheese that I did for the throwdown!
