Hey Everyone,

This might be quite an open ended question, but after reading through some threads I couldn't find my answer. As easter is approaching, i thought it would be a cool idea to try to make/smoke my own ham from scratch. Obviously i've never attempted this before, but i really couldn't find any thorough thread that detailed the process from start to finish (which cut to use, etc). Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this? I'd like to be able to brine/smoke it ahead of time and cook it on easter.

Thanks!

Lou

Awesome, thank you! Now i just hope i have enough time!!!!!!
I want to do the same thing for Easter. I'm going to try brining butts for the first time. Pop's thread recommends 10-14 days of bring for butts or shoulders. I'm concerned about the time as well. Easter is 31 days.
