Well it's ZERO degrees

out and I have just fired up the Big Steel Keg for 2 pork butts and a big pan of smoked pit beans.  Took a little longer because I had to wait for the vents to defrost so I could open them.  Loving my Stoker from Rock's, I can control and monitor temperature from the warmth of my house.  19 hours (16 smoking and 3 wrapped in the cooler) away from delicious pulled pork!

I'll try to add pics in the morning if there is light. I'm in Iowa, going to get down to -12° F tonight, oh yes.

Cold weather smoking Thumbs Up
Smoking is a 24/7 12 months a year sport ! :grilling_smilie:

Now that is a cold smoke!

I once chipped 3 inches of ice off my gas grill (when I owned one) and cooked breakfast - eggs, bacon, biscuits - everything on the grill.  Ice storm of 1998 in VA - we didn't have power for 2 weeks.  Now I own a generator

Looks like you got a great start!  What's in them beans?

Bill

The beans have yellow onion, red, yellow, green and orange peppers, little bbq sauce, mollases, maple syrup, jalapeno, hot sauce, bacon, pulled pork from previous cook, and mixture of beans, black, pinto, northern, kidney, baby lima. Unbelievable, make them everytime I do pork butt.

This was the 3rd set for a total of 6 butts and 3 pans of beans. Fed 55 people at our men's retreat. Some left over but I would rather be long than short
