I bought this on the recommendation of the Imperial King of Sausagedom Nepas!!!!!!

I was hoping to get a fridge to make fermented sausage in and ..well ..... there just isnt any room here for it.

This will control temp and humidity...it is a plug in unit.

http://www.randmsupply.com/dept.php?navid=6          ... the unit.. still in the bag I got it in.

http://www.sausagemaker.com/tutorials/chamber/curing_chamber.html    ...the plans...

I paid about 165..including shipping.....send me a c-note on paypal and I will pay the shipping....U.S. of course..

The AIR-2 has the same features as the AIR-1 with the exception of separate temperature and humidity outlets. This allows you to control the temperature and humidity independently.
MSRP $154.95Click for more information

I was looking at the Air 2 on ebay and saw they were somewhere near a c-note or a little higher..

Soooo..I will lower the price to 80 bucks & free shipping...

I've been looking at that unit myself, Craig, again based on nepas recommendation; he is the guru of fermentation and I trust and value his opinion.  I'm sure you will sell it quickly, but if by any chance you still have it in the spring, let me know, ok?  Still looking for a fridge to convert.

FOR US GREENHORNS: Besides salami, what are some of the other sausages that are cold fermented?

P.S. When you work up your plans I think a lot of us would like to see a wiring schematic.

Here is what I was going to use for the basic set up..http://www.sausagemaker.com/tutorials/chamber/curing_chamber.html

If the unit doesnt sell soon I will prolly change my mind and use it...

I am considering a small greenhouse to grow orchids and it would be real handy....

I may also find a place around the house or barn or shed to get started with what I planned to do originally...

Soooo the sale ends in about 5 days..

The only drawback to orchids in a greenhouse is the expense to heat it. I know one guy in Half Moon Bay that has a greenhouse  with a double layered covering. The air space between the two layers (about a foot) provides insulation. Just a thought....Paul

Craig, afternoon....  Orchids are so cool.... I bought a plant once... the easy-peasy variety to grow.... read everything.... I killed it.... Now I have found success with garlic.... a weed.... I grow weeds now and I am very good at it.....

Keep the electronics and do orchids...  between you and piney we will have 2 experts brains to pick..... and that is where vanilla beans come from.... don't know if it is a special variety or not.....

Start with Phalaenopsis orchids and Cattleya orchids. Phals are easy to grow. Cats like it nice and warm. Cymbidium"s need cold winter air to set buds.

Places like Home Depot sell them cheap, just try to find out when new stock comes in and get first shot at them. I've been growing orchids for 25 years.

when they become pot bound each plant can be divided in to several plants. I've got orchids all over the whole  house. They thrive best in a steamy bathroom that has morning sun.

I know......too much talking
