My user name should be Tweeker.  I have an ECB which has had all the mod's I could find, but I keep looking for improvements.

1. I put new aluminum angle legs on that I made 2" longer.  I have the charcoal pan sitting on 3 round pavers, which put the top of the pan almost hitting the water pan.  I wanted to gain some space there, so the legs lift the smoker body up.

2. I took some lightweight aluminum sheeting, screwed it to the bottom of the smoker body, making a skirt.  I have had problems with the wind in the past and wanted to see if this could help.  I left 3" around the bottom of the skirt.

3. I could never seem to set the smoker can back down straight down without hitting the charcoal pan.  Problem was when I thought the pan was centered on the paver, it wasn't and I kept hitting it.  So, I took the pan, made sure it was centered on the paver and used some construction adhesive to anchor 4 small small pieces of thin flagstone to the paver, tight against the pan.  Now when I put the pan down, it self centers itself.  This eliminates at least one problem with putting the can back down.

Its beginning to look like I should call it my UECB.

deano, morning..... Do you have some pictures of the mod ???  That would help folks see what you have accomplished...   Dave

I was planning on waiting until I tried the mod's; I may have screwed up my temp. profile and don't want everyone to see my mistakes.  Ha! Ha!  I will take a picture of my UECB and add it to my post.

Okay, I took some pic's of my last "Tweeks" to my UECB.  As you will see, I haven't tried to work on beauty, but function.

This is a picture of the flagstone chips I put down on my top paver to center the charcoal pan.  The black paint on the rectangular stones are there to provide a target for the legs when I am putting the smoker can back down over the charcoal pan.  It really helps in lowering the can.

Here's the pan sitting on the paver.  The chips make sure the pan is centered.

Here's my skirt (with a 3" ground clearance) and the new, 2" longer legs. You will notice, I used the can of spray paint I had available (flat black).

You can see why I call it my UECB.

Looking forward to seeing if the skirt helps - looks like a great idea
