SCV - So Cal
I smoked a couple of tri-tips today. The guys at work have been asking me to bring some in so I got a two pack at Costco and marinated them overnight. It’s similar to my wine jerky marinade I posted before.

I tossed them in my smoker with Cherry and Hickory chips this morning and let it cook at 250*.

When they got to 150* I brushed on some sweet BBQ sauce I got from my local Wood Ranch BBQ joint the  last time I ate there.

It was a great dinner for the wife and I and I am sure they guys at work will devourer it as soon as I heat it up.

I decide to make up some of my garlic mashed potatoes while I was at it since it’s easy to make and tasted great. (This is not recommended for heart patients).

5LB red potatoes, green onions, 5 strips of bacon well cooked into bits, 1 pint sour crème, 2 sticks of butter, 2 table spoons garlic powder and  2 table spoons of seasoned pepper.

Now your tri tip looks awesome an all but.........We have to talk about the potatoes. have you been looking over my shoulder when I make my smashed taters. Soon to be world famous. You have just forgot to either mention or forgot to put it in and that's cheese sharp cheddar cheese. Oh yea there's one more ingredient that I put in mine an it's a secret but it's Cajun and they put it in water. By the way your potatoes look fabulous and I know taste good to.

Well I sliced 1 1/2 of the tri-tips into 1/2" slices then cut them down the middle. I brought that and the mashed taters in today. In less that 20 minutes it was all gone.

It was nice to get lots of compliments on how well it tasted as I walked down the halls of the office.

Sharp Cheddar? I bought a brick of it the same day. I never thought to add that to the mix. I'll have to try the "Cajun things they put in water", that would put a differen't spin on it.

Nice... I envy the tri tips... cant get them here
