I recently bought a Master Forge gas smoker and have had every meal take hours longer than I anticipated. I did have a different smoker and it cooked meals on average of 2-4 hours. I have been smoking a 10 lb turkey breast for 7 hours and it is still only 145 degrees. I am frustrated and hungry! Any advice would greatly appreciated. The tank is full, there was a full tray of applewood in water, the water tray was filled. I checked on it throughout the day and filled the water tray as needed.

Thanks,

Todd Smith

It sounds like your smoker temp is very low. What is the temp of the smoker chamber? What are you using to check smoker temp? Do you know that it is accurate?

I've done two 12# turkeys on my GOSM propane smoker and they both took less than 6 hours at 275*.

I would almost guarantee your smoker is a lot colder than what you think it is.

I see this is your first post here, when you get a minute would you do us a favor and go to Roll Call and introduce yourself so we can get to know you and give you a proper welcome, also would you add your location to your profile, we like knowing where you are when we talk to you, Thanks!

Factory MF therms in the door are very inaccurate. Check a therm in boiling water and check your chamber temp. Put master forge propane mods in the search bar and you will find some great ways to make the unit much more efficient. I have one and love it. Feel free to PM me about mods if you want.
