I have an masterbuilt gas smoker with a  flame disk bowl for the wood chips, this bowl has opening in it to allow the flame to heat the wood chip, but I noticed the chips burn real fast. would I be better off using Jeff's method of cutting down a coffee can and using that as a wood chip holder, would it slow down the burning process. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

A coffee can would work, a lot of people use a cast iron frying pan or a metal baking pan it the MB propane smokers. Using chunks instead of chips would probably help with the burn time also.

I see this is your first post here so

Hey there! Great advice from S2K9K on the pan and chips to chunks, he would know since he has a propane smoker.

Would you mind swinging by Roll Call when you get the chance and introduce yourself so we can give you a proper SMF Welcome?

Hello, Dave and

to SMF.  S2K9K (the other Dave) gave you some great advice on using an old cast iron fry pan, also chunks will last longer than chips just because of the size and volume difference.

I also have a gasser and love it. Enjoy your time here and be sure to take and post some pictures. We all like Qveiw!
