New to the forum and thought I would post a question. I build a double barrel smoker a few years ago and enjoyed it every summer. This year I am building a RF smoker because I feel that would give me a better quality smoke and definately make the smoking more efficient. I have noticed a few folks building their firebox and insulating it. Does it make that big of a difference and does a lot of folks on here do this when building their smokers?
I have seen calculators for the firebox and whatnot, but is there a calculator to tell me how much of a gap to leave at the end of my drip plate?
Final thought... is a RF better than an offset with tuning plates?
Cheers!
