36x30x48 gas or electric?

Hey guys (and gals). I'm going to build a smokehouse soon and was wanting your thoughts on whether I should go gas or electric for a 36x30x48.

I would probably use a burner like pops used. (Thanks for the write up Pops!) if its not too big for this size.  If the gas would be too much I could use a 1000w hot plate. Electric would be handy since I wouldn't have to worry about running out of gas.

The smoker will be mostly used for sausage and bacon. I have the MES for hot smokes.

I live in Missouri so temps vary hugely from 10 F to 110 F. The MES has no problem keeping temps up.

Thanks for all the help!

The propane burner has 3 different burners on it making it very versatile; then add a needle valve and you can almost infinitely adjust your temp, dialing it in quite easily.

Awesome Pops, that sounds really good and the price on that burner is great!
