Hi all. Been reading on here for a few weeks. ANd finally took the plunge and bought a Masterbuil 30" propane smoker from Gander Mountain this weekend. Great sell on it 99.00. So decided I couldn't go wrong.

I have been grilling for 20 years and tried smoking with one of those Brinkman charcol smokers, little round and extremely hard for me to figure out. I gave up after about 50.00 worth of ruined meat.

But thought maybe propane would work better for me. I choose it over electric as I have a propane grill. I have used a samll smoker box on the grill for some good flavor, but not exactly what I wanted.

I am currently doing the burn in. Really checking out the propane control to get a feel for where to set it and how much movement does to the temps.

Anyway down close to Lubbock, TX so lots of wind. But think I should be OK.

I have looked at the forums and most of the fixes and problems peolple have had with this smoke seem to be fixed. The woodbox has no holes like some pictured. And not sure if it has been redesigned or wht. BUt hoping to try some meat on the smoker tomorrow.

Thanks and look forward to getting help and hopefully giving some one day.

Thanks everyone. And Ill post pics and other stuff for you. But mostly at night. I work nights so only do a lot of coooking on nights when I am off. Already got so many ideas to try after reading your posts, I might go broke if the first couple of smokes go OK.
