Hey all,
This is Ted from Charlotte, N.C.
For the past 3 - 4 years, I've been using a Smokey Mountain propane smoker. It's a decent smoker but not a great smoker (don't repeat this to the boys at the Smokey Mountain, Yahoo groups). The problem with gas smoking is regulating the heat. Heck, I have to many things going on in my life to sit around and regulating the heat on a 12+ hour boston butt.
I've been kicking the idea around and I've decided to bite the bullet and go electric. Right now, I'm thinking of going with the Masterbuilt 30 inch smoker but I'm really nervous about all of the bad reviews that it gets.
In addition to my Smokey Mountain, I also have a Weber charcoal grill and a propane grill (I'm to lazy to walk to the yard to look at the maker). As I'm aging (I'm 38), I've really gotten into enjoying Q'ing but I know that I don't want to spend all day and night slaving over a smoker.
Other than smoking, I'm also into motorcycles. I ride a completely modified Yamaha Roadstar (there's nothing better than riding up through the NC mountains).
Oh, not to mention pistols, long guns and Gentlemen's Jack.
I look forward to learning and chatting with you all.
Thanks!
