Just purchased a Master Forge Double Door Propane Smoker and attempting my first smoke of baby back ribs as I'm writting this.

I followed all the instructions & did all the rub of the meat. however, I'm a little confused about, do I keep adding water to the pan as it evaporates and do I keep adding more wood chuncks as they burn out ? tried reading on line but unable to find asnwers.  Any help would be appreciated.

yes to both, I add water as it goes down and I add wood as it burns

Welcome to the forum, I'm fairly new also and have learned many good tips here. Still have much to learn, but the food I've smoked thus far has been pretty darned good! Better than the stuff at fast food stores that's for sure, so it saves you money!!

I haven't used a water smoker in a while.  When I added water mid smoke, I always used hot water.

Thanks to all for the responses. Well, the first rib smoke came out pretty good according to my family, (maybe they were just being nice) but all 5 racks seemed to disappear quickly. Looking foward to my next try at beef ribs.

I got the same smoker a couple months back.   I love it, however I would suggest getting a gasket from a fireplace store for the doors.  Helps keep the smoke and heat from escaping from the doors.  It also makes the smoker a little kinder to your propane tank.  Welcome aboard and happy smoking.
