Hi all. New here as a registered member, but have been reading about for a month or so. I really enjoy the good info I've obtained already. I've been making venison summer sausage, salami's and a few brats, though anything that has required smoke, has been done in a neighbors smokehouse. My friends and I have been processing 10-20 deer and 3-5 pigs per year, so there's no doubt more options will be appreciated.
I'm finally planning to build my own within the next few wks and have recently ordered a Landmann 3405BGW verticle smoker as well. I've been enjoying various grills over the years and figure its time to expand. A cinder block whole hog pit is in the making, too. My dad has been using one for 10 yrs and after browsing Cowgirls blog, I've finally been inspired to get my own together.
Thanks for providing such an interesting location to gather much info. I always go away hungry.
