    Hello Frenchy. My fb will be 34x34x34 1/4" thick. My tank well is just a propane tank about a 275 gallon Reason I made fb so big is my circ is 30" thought it would help to fill in and as I've read doesn't hurt to be a little big lol

    So the shield is more or less pushing the heat on down the cc and length also in fb isn't as important either Question someone said it was good idea to not weld this shield what is the benefit sorry for all the questions

    Ok I've stole this from another thread just wanting to keep all my info together So I need a heat shield from the fb into the cc no magical length. Maybe leave it floating to regulate heat The air gap I've read about is from the heat shield from fb to cc

    Ok but no magic length it needs to be or is that why it's lefts floating so you can pull it in or out to adjust heat flow. You may see this again on my thread I want to keep all this stuff together Also seen above that the back of fb is different size than rest. Ok I dumb please explain...

    Hey guys I was reading above about a heat shield is there a magic length it needs to be Am I correct in saying it fits between the fb and cc I also read in another thread something about air gap from fb and cc explane please

    Hd good reading there I totally agree I'd love to see a cook off too just on nc style BBQ. That's what I thought we was doing in Lexington but powers to be lol Welding up my fb this week end when I get a few more pics I'll post also getting ready to do some sand blasting
