I hate to criticize another man's meat, but that does look very dark after just one hour.  However, I've seen some pretty blackened meat before and it sill tasted really good.  I would have probably just let it finish in the smoker anyway to see how it would turn out.  I plan on every smoke event being a possible scrapper but it usually turns out great and people love it.  You won't be able to satisfy everyone but as long as you like, it doesn't matter.  :)
