Marty smoked 2 pork butts on Sunday and I was looking for something new to do with it. I decided that I would take one of favorite chili recipes and replace the chicken with the pork butt. It was great!!!

    White Pulled Pork Chili
    5 can northern beans
    8 cups chicken broth
    1 tsp chicken bouillon granules
    1/2 cup chopped white onion
    6-8 garlic cloves minced
    7 oz chopped green chilies
    2 tsp cilantro
    3 tsp ground cumin
    2 tsp ground oregano
    1 tsp cayenne pepper
    2 tsp ground white pepper
5 cups cooked pulled pork (cut into bite size pieces)
    1 cup sour cream
3 cups shredded monetary jack cheese

Combine beans, broth, and chicken granules in a large pot; simmer covered for about 1hr. Sauté onions in butter until golden brown. Add onions, garlic, cilantro, green chilies cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper, white pepper, and pulled pork to bean mixture. Simmer 30 min. Add sour cream and cheese, heat until cheese is melted.

This has a great smoky flavor that is amazing. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I have done red and green chilis. Never a white. I may have to try this out. Thanks for the recipe.

Wow, that sounds great! I'll have to give that a shot. Of course, I think you could replace just about anything with pulled pork and make it better (well, maybe not ice cream.....maybe)

This does sound good, I've already had a white chicken chili that was great. Didn't taste like your ordinary red chili, but it was excellent!

Sounds absolutely fantastic. Thanks for sharing. We use pulled pork for many dishes and even for making gravey.

Definately a keeper recipe. After all, the Pork Council tells us that Pork is the other white meat.

Looks mighty good, I like white chili. Smoky pork would have to add great flavor.
    Gonna try this.

I never tried a white chili, and I just happen to have found around 2lbs. of pulled pork in the bottom of the freezer. Will give it a try. Thank you Tanya

If it had taters instead of beans it'd almost be a smoked stroganof.

hmmmm gives me another idea! [IMG]

Let'r buck and give it a try !!!

I do have to say, we try some different recipes around this house; most work out pretty well.

But last weekend Tatonka3A2 asked me what I thought about substituting pullled pork for chicken in her White Chicken Chili Recipe and my gut instinct was, "Well, try it, it should be good !!!"

Well HOT DAMN...... The day she made it simmer on the stove it was good. That night it went into the fridge and it was reheated for supper. After it was simmered and reheated it was a recipe I would share with anyone and told her she needed to post and share it with true pulled pork lovers a.k.a. SMF members !!!

My wife is a very good cook with an imagination for making a great result for an end product. I hope everyone who tries this soup enjoys it as much as we do.

I want to make this recipe tomorrow. It says to saute the onions, but no onions in the ingredients. What kind, how much, etc.? PM to Mossy about this also.
