Over thanksgiving my sister said that I could take their Brinkman Smoke n' Pit since her and my brother in law don't really like smoked food. I am going to be doing some mods to it, we my old man is going to do some mods to it while I am away this summer. I have read through a couple of mod threads and haven't seen anyone do this yet so I don't know if it is feasible or not. Instead of dropping the stack down to grate level I want to run a piece of dryer vent along the back of the lid and drop it down by the firebox at grate level turning it into a reverse flow. Will there be enough flow to keep the smoke moving that far or am I going to get serious smoke build up and heat build up?

He is putting in a baffle plate, right? I don't see why that wouldn't work as long as you have a baffle plate running the distance of the cooking chamber. I don't have a baffle plate to try reverse flow so I am not well informed. Someone else will speak up if I am off track here. Good Luck.
