I used a variation on one of the brines someone else had posted and smoked them for about 6 hours yesterday. Yumm!! Here's what I used: 1.5 gallons water 1 cup Kosher Salt 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup soy sauce and a few shakes of minced onion, since I didn't have any onion powder! Soaked them for about 12 hours and smoked them with apple and a little hickory for about 6 hrs. until at 185. I have to admit I've never brined a chicken before, so I can't say if this is better or worse than any other recipe, but it went over well! Feel free to try it out.
