Had some pulled pork left and the kids wanted another PP Shepherds pie. Decided to do it a little different this time and skipped the garlic mashed potatoes for just regular......

    Layer of potatoes and PP...

Colby and monterey jack on top of the pork....

Covered with another layer of potatoes and some shredded cheddar and cooked at 350 for 15 minutes.....

Made some biscuits as well and took Captain Dan's advice and made some pork gravy to go with it.......

Some home made blackberry jam on the biscuits and we proceeded to throw down. No leftovers on this batch. Guess I'll hafta smoke something else for the weekend. ;)

Thanks Ron. It was a big hit with the family.

Thanks Richoso, I love garlic mashed potatoes but didn't think they would go well with the gravy. The regular potatoes sure did. :)

Thanks Erain. Its a quick and easy dinner and quite tasty with the pulled pork. Being a "southerner" I like gravy on most anything, lol , so adding the gravy was a great idea IMO. ( Thanks Dan)

One thing about making this dish.... The first layer of potatoes needs to be fairly stiff. If they're too creamy you'll have trouble serving. The top layer can be smoother and creamy and in fact that will make it easier to spread them on top of the pork and cheese. More time in the oven will also firm up the potatoes but you have to watch the cheese so it doesn't get scorched. ;)

Nice job Gun. I usually don't have leftovers a good excuse to smoke more.
