lol. thanks all,

I have been searching the webs. and so far the mak looks real nice. im stuck, even with the price I have been offered on the Mak1 , the mak starter kit doesn't come with all the goodies the rec Tec does.

everything that RecTec offers on the best offer deal (1499.00 on the RT site) looks to be everything I would use, even tho I have a million Mavericks in my house,

I just want to make sure I'm not giving up quality for quantity.

Question for the diehards,
if I gave you a choice. RecTec Or Mak 1 star for free witch would you choose.

not a perfect world. but a fun one :)

I have 1 season under my belt with a Louisiana Grill and im very pleased with it. there actually is nothing else available up her without crazy shipping rates !!!!!
i also have a freezer/fridge build for my smoking, but i use the Louisiana quite a bit in grill season.

Free of cost, similar options, I would take the MAK. Them and Memphis are the top of the line. When you balance cost and features it becomes harder. I know the MAK can be upgraded to their wifi controller later own.

Though RT is a good unit feom what I have heard. Size is something else to consider. For 90% of my cooking I decided the larger barrel design was wasted space and took up more room on my deck. I went with the PG500 because I really liked the ease of using it for smoking and grilling, so in my case it beat out the MAK 1 for that.

Now like Red I have heard they have redesigned the insert to make the switch easier, so the MAK would be harder to pass up knowing I could add the top end controller down the road.

Bottom line IMHO is you will be happy with either unit, but instead of looking at what is the same look at what is different to figure out what will work better for you.

I think you answered your own question right there.... It seems "The Extras" is what's pulling you towards the RT ....

well The mak deal fell through. so now I sit here ready to click buy it now on the RT :)

pulled the trigger Monday and ordered a RT with all the goodies thanks to 6 month financing.

the guys at RecTec are great, super nice, very helpful.

I placed my order Monday and got my delivery call on Wednesday, delivery of the RT is for this Friday , wow, for a 500 lb load I would say that is super fast.

I will post pics. of the honeymoon.
