I did not know his location to be soo close to Galveston! He did send me an email yesterday. Looks like it might be a while till we see him back, but he wanted to let folks here know he's all right... Rich

Howdy Rich, please pass my name around the BBQ site, I'm at the library using the Gov provided Internet due to the damn hurricane IKE. We were hit pretty hard , no power for days now and a tree in the swimming pool, a big oak at that. One good thing is there is enough post oak on the ground to smoke for years to come! I'll be back when things get better here. They expect the power back on line sometime next week! Been smoking everything in the freezer. three briskets and two pork loins, smoking now in fact. I hate Texas now....
Take care and let everyone know we are getting by here, its only 35 miles from Galveston Isl to Kingwood ya know. Eye went right over us at 5 am. Total devastation in the neighborhood. Back soon, keep the faith and stay green.

Good luck and God Bless Jim.

I have some close friends in the area. Some got hit hard while others now have electricity restored. My friends have nothing but praise for the way FEMA has handled this. They have nothing but praise for the speed that utilities are being restored. Red Cross, local government, local support groups have been johnny on the spot. I am sure that some do not feel that way, but that is my report and me and mine sure do not work for any of the above mentioned. The pic is a friend that lives in the San Leon area, right on the bay.

Thanks Rich. I'm sure it will take awhile before everything is back to <normal>.
