Hello everyone.  I am new to the forum and new to meat smoking in general.  I have been browsing the forum for quite some time now and finally decided I would join up on the forum.  I have been seriously contemplating purchasing my first smoker and it seems the MBES seems to get relatively good reviews for a newbie.  I am looking for something simple to start and learn with.  Specifically looking to smoke pork, chicken, ribs, and maybe even some jerky.  My question for all of you more experienced guys is would you recommend the MBES for what I have described above?  If not please feel free to let me know which you would recommend.  Thanks in advance fro the help.

buying a AMNPS for a smoke generator. They are $40.00 and worth every penny.

you can lite it and forget it, go to bed if you want. The chip loader that is fatory, you have

to add chips every 20 min or so.

Happy smoken.

Welcome to the forums!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.  I'd say the MES makes a very nice first smoker for someone just starting...easy to use and it makes great que.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome neighbor! I agree w/ David; the AMNPS is the cat's a$$ for smoke. There have been many posts here on using one with an MES, so you'll have all the direction you need to get it going well. Have fun...
