Still a few hours away from firing up the 18.5 WSM. The Neighbor hood is having s block party and my youngest wanted to take the kids a dish. So had him prep a batch of Poor Mans Burnt Ends. It's simple and kids love it. Can use toothpicks and it's their own appetizer. So here it is.

Your favorite hot dogs cut up into 1" or so pieces. I can of chunk pineapple. A jug of your favorite BBQ sauce. Put in a foil pan. Smoke in the smoker for 1.5-2 hours depending on smoker temp.

Gotta say, I'm impressed! Not only by your son's desire to take a dish to share with his friends, but by your willingness to help him prepare it.
Points for being a great Dad!! Happy 4th!!

Okay all the prep is done! Three more hours until the ribs go on. I still have to season and pull the membrane. That'll be done right before they go into the WSM!

Thank you! If you haven't had Dutch's Wicked beans they are well worth it! Easy to prep too.

  11. Made them plenty of times and yes well worth it.  Ps. If you make to many they freeze well till the next time you need them, which won't be long.

Still smoking along. About another hour till I can crack the lid and add the sides! Let the temp creep up a few notches.

Awesome smoke!  Those ribs look incredible!  [IMG]

I'm going to try some wicked beans, from your pics it looks like a 28oz can of beans and tidbits for the pineapple.  Were the ribs dripping into them as they smoked?

55 ounce can of beans 20 ounce can of pineapple. Yes the beans were under the ribs. Ribs took 5 hours and I put the beans in the smoker at the 3 hour mark.
