hey all, I'm really new to this forum. My wife and I live on Barksdale AFB which is in Bossier City, Louisiana. We are originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I usually cook out 2-3 times a week on Kingsford charcoal grill and occasionally I will smoke a rack of ribs in my custom built smoker. I haven't used my smoker in a few weeks because I am trying to figure out a different way to provide heat and smoke. I would really like to meet a few people who also love to BBQ and learn some new techniques and some recipes!

Yeah the weather is very different, but the bbq out here is way better. We have been here for a few years and there is a bunch of bbq restaurants I have yet to try.

Better try them now. Once you get this smoking stuff down pat you may never eat BBQ out again.

This place is a wealth of knowledge. Its really amazing. The search engine here ...... well if you don't see what you are looking for you mispelled it. They have it covered, everything from canned tomatoes to the flow coefficent of a 6" pipe. You can always ask a question also, if you have a specific question. Did I mention that the smoke guru's can answer questions before you ask them? LOL.... well pretty much.

Make sure and reference to pit size and type when asking, thats how good these guys are.

I have not been able to find a good way to smoke crawfish yet, if you have it figured out please let me know.

Its a great site, I am sure you'll like it. Oh and BTW thank you for your service, sorta assumed that with the location.
