I have just made the move to the Ugly Drum side. My trailer rig is going up for sale as soon as I get it cleaned up and pics taken. This will put my equipment and drums in a future new to me enclosed trailer.

Also its going to put the drums in the weather while I am smoking. I am looking for thoughts and opinion's from trial and experience. When we want to smoke we are like the mail man, no weather to bad to smoke. So I am thinking about the Guru and the Stoker. My other situation is that I do telephone and power company line work, and I am on call all the time. I don't like to take calls on a smoke weekend but sometimes I have to.

I want to be able to run two drums, and if necessary, be able to leave it and have the wife pull the meat when its ready. She can tend the fire and take care of the meat but she would rather stick needles in her nostrils. She does it when I really need her to, she says its only cause she loves me.

I really don't need the meat probes, just the pit temps for two drums. That way if I have to leave, the fire will tend itself. The messages to cell phone would be cool but not necessary, as well as wireless to the laptop, cool but not a have to.

Of course I want to stay as cost effective as possible. I have seen that they both do the basic same thing but each also has a few things special to each.

I guess I am trying to find out what folks think works the best even if it would be a different brand. Or even if there is a home grown how to for making a draft fan and thermostat setup.

I would greatly appreciate and info and ideas anyone can offer.

Thanks
Tom
