Big easy is too cold?

How hot should a big easy get? When we first got it it seemed to cook fine. But now it takes forever. We had wings in it for 3 hours and finally just finished them off in the oven! I called Charbroil they sent me a new regulator, and we are giving it another shot today, but the temp seems low, it barely holds 300 degrees. Just wondering if anyone had checked the temp in theirs.
