I'm looking to buy a Propane Smoker but when it comes to building things I'm a moron no make that a complete moron !!
My only choices right now would be Home Depot or Lowes since they assemble them, but their selection is limited to a Brinkmann vertical at Home Depot or Master Forge at Lowes . I would like to get one of the smokers from Walmart or BassPro they have the GOSM smokers that have I seen most on here most seem to be pleased with .
My question is, just how hard are they to assemble ?? Are the instructions made for a complete idiot or should I just settle for what HD/Lowes offers ??.
Also, are the GOSM that Walmart offers the same models and quality as the BassPro?--- they're a lot cheaper than at the Basspro just wondering if it's a lower grade line.
Thanks
Dave

I don't think you should have too much trouble putting one together. There aren't any moving internal parts that you have to worry about.
Either place should be fine to purchase from.
If you do run into trouble just post a picture and question on here and we will help you the best we can.
Good luck on your purchase and show off your new toy once you get it.

The GOSM isn't real complicated to assemble, and come with pretty easy-to-understand instructions. The only difference in the models you have seen at Wal Mart and BPS is the size. I don't think you can buy the Big Block at Wal Mart. If it was me, I'd go to Bass Pro and spend the extra scratch for the Big Block (24" wide). You'll be glad to have the extra space. Good Luck, Dave, and Happy Smokin'!

First of all, I,missed you in roll call, so welcome to the SMF. Often you can ask a saleman or anyone in the store if they would come out and assemble the smoker at your place. I've done this before with other items. I moved you thread to roll call so that you can introduice yoirself to our friendly group. It's all good my friend.

I got my GOSM at Bass Pro and I am the original complete moron when it comes to putting things together (just ask my wife...LOL), but I was able to put it together in less than an hour. I have a BA in history. They don't teach too many classes on putting things together in that curriculum! In other words, if I can put a GOSM together, ANY-DADGUM-BODY can!

Don't feel bad. I have a son in law that suffers from the same issue. He is still a good guy.
Welcome to the forum. This is certainly a great place to get help.

Buy an electric 40" MES from Sam's or a 30" from Lowes. They are completely assembled. If you spend any time around SMF, MES owners are very satisfied customers.

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks here and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.
