Greetings fellow smoke-a-holics!

I am back from a 2 year hiatus. Not really sure why I left, or why I didn't smoke much during that time. I spent some time with the baby girl, but most of all I think I'm just sick of my smoker.

It seems I was always battling my smoker, it never worked with me, only against me. I had to add fire every other hour, twist and turn the food to avoid hotspots, manuever everything to fit it in there. I think overall, it just made the whole experience a lot more headache than it should be.

So I'm on the hunt for a new smoker. I've been around the block enough to know what I want. But I also know that I can't afford that :), so I'm back to what I think would work well for me. Obviously if I knew then what I know now... aww who knows :)

This place has really exploded since I left. Must be all the new-fangled smoking shows I see on the TV now. Regardless, the more the merrier!

I'm looking forward to getting back into the mix and getting to know you folks all over again. Oh, and if anyone sees a WSM for sale in Missouri, please let me know.

-Travis

Welcome back my friend, nice to see a vet smoker back to the SMF. Good luck on your smoker selection. It's all good my friend.

With the weather just starting to turn warm around here, I couldn't wait much longer. I pulled the trigger and ordered a new WMS 22". Its supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I'm already making plans for Sundays BBQ. I'll take lots of pictures, that's the best part.

thanks for the warm welcome.

Congrats on the smoker choice seems those that have them sure like them and that says a lot!!

Hello Travis, and welcome back! Congrats on the new WSM, I hear great things about those rigs. I look forward to your future posts, O' Knight of the OTBS!

Welcome back and it's good to have you. It looks like you have picked a good smoker and I cann't wait till the Qview starts rolling in.

I wouldn't mind trying one of those, but I'll have to find a deal on Craigs List. Welcome back and don't forget, pictures are still required.
