All ingredients

Chicken
hay (dried grass )
pineapple
beer



My hay is green, Because I have it dried inside the house Very quickly

Wet rub

2 parts mustard
2 parts dried onions
2 parts paprika powder
2 parts salt
1 part garlic powder
1 part coriander
1 part cumin
1 part pepper
1 part olive oil



Hay mixture with beer and pineapple



stuffed chicken



It was cold



My bbq set up

Beer can chicken for the children

I am really sorry guys, But I have no further photographs
I was so excited That I forgot it

it is something special
It was very nice .The chicken was very moist
I will certainly make it for friends

Always a pleasure checking out your posts Geert, beautiful looking birds but I'm also interested in the use of hay.
Is this something you have heard of doing and knew it would give a particular result/flavor?

The hay is for the taste,not to eat


I've never seen it done before,but I love a challenge

A friend of mine has challenged me to do something with hay on the bbq/smoker( I love challenges )

I have thought 2 months over it

,and I that was outcome

Perhaps the next time ,I mix rosemary in the hay

I was thinking to myself,thats outside the box thinking

You are really thinking outside the box hell your not even close to the darn box. Hay stuffed birds. I always like your threads just for that reason you come up with some of the most outragest things to do with a smoker. Hay stuffed bird go figure

I suppose it would matter what kind of hay you used. Some research would certainly be in order.

I've made over 320,000 bales of hay at my family farm and I never thought of doing that with it.
I always used as feed for the angus and horses.
Maybe a good clover-blue grass-garlic grass mix would be good.
