Has anyone ever used cherry wood to smoke?

It is my absolute favorite.

Cherry is one of my favorites as well, it smells great when burning and gives the meat a great taste and wonderful color.
A good portion of my smokes I like to use oak and cherry.

Absolutely. I use it all the time for wild game. The best.

I use it often also. When my planned smoke is going to be anything but cherry, I always toss a split of cherry into the firebox in memory of Scott in KC.

OMG! Yes! - My property is loaded with wild cherry - hate to say it but we have so much its whats burning in the woodstoveicon_redface.gif

Of course I save all the good heartwood and cut it up to fit my smoker box.

Cherry mixed with a bit of apple is most all I use.

I use cherry wood on chicken, and on other meats I mix it with another hardwood. It's very compatible with other woods.

My brother has wild cherry on his property. I am the happy beneficiary of those times he removes branches, or as he did a couple years ago take down a whole tree.... like the others here, I find it to be a fave.
