Ham Bone and Chipotle Bean Soup

Cooked a ham last weekend and the bone with extra meat makes a fine bean/pea soup etc..

About a hour in..meat still on bone...Added my cranberry beans, carrotts, celery and leaf, onion etc...

Added some late season tomatoes-not as sweet as the summer ones

Ready to mash

Added a teaspoon of my chipotle and mirasol. My chipotles are hot and smokey enough it is perfect amount for some bang...

about a gallon

Made some sweet potato rolls in bread section last month and these were 3/4 cooked and frozen.Just reheated and they are like cotton candy

Dinner.I was hungry and could only eat a bowl with a few rolls.
Spot on for this cold weather

Way behind on tree. Will get the lights better and decorate tomorrow...

Looks like a great soup Alex, perfect for a day like this...
Sure wouldn't mind a steaming bowl as I go back and forth to the smoker in the 14 degree cold.

I wish I could say I'm not surprised by how many beans and fresh ingredients you have stored away but I always am.

I had a Cambell's microwaveable cream of broccoli today... PDT_Armataz_01_33.gif

Looks great Alex. I have a big Ham bone that I put in the freezer from Thanksgiving...been planning some split pea or lentil soup, and this is enough to put me in motion. Maybe I'll make some rolls too, I saw your post on that and thought they looked awesome.

Tree looks good. Merry Christmas to you.

Is it in the air or what. Alex you have made another of the great dishes I'm so used to while I sit here and read all these threads that you have posted one after another. But the weird thing is when it started getting cold (to us in Fla) the wife and I started making these incredible soups first with the 15 bean and then followed by a red beans and rice dish that ended up with half the frig in it and it is more than good. I own alot of it to you alex and to the great folks here at SMF too. PDT_Armataz_01_37.gifand some points.giftoo.
