Long time lurker, first time caller

Thread Starter
Hi, my name is Dave, and my wife bought me an electric ECB for our anniversary in August. I found this site right away and have been lurking reading about mods for my smoker.

In October, I made my first attempt at smoking. Started with a brisket (brave, huh?) and it turned out okay, but it cooked too fast so it never got very tender.

BTW< I get a lot of question about my username--Rooriders. Nothing naughty, but we have a hybrid camper, called a Rockwood Roo. Thus, our family became "Rooriders." (Great story, Dave. You should tell it at parties.)

Welcome to the site Dave.
Thought for a moment you were referring to a German Roor, but that is something different icon_wink.gif

No worries about having a few smokes not work quite the way you wanted, read up, ask questions and in no time you will be pumping out excellent BBQ.
