Hello Pit People!

Ever since a trip to the Salt Lick (just outside of Austin) when I was 14, the day I first reached that special place in the cosmos only reachable via mouthful of holy brisket bark, I have been a bona fide BBQ fanatic. It is only until recently, after securing a beat-up smoker through Craigslist, that I can now fully realize my passion by cooking my own Q.

I have since nursed my smoker -- a horizontal with offset firebox -- back to health and am looking forward to using it often, and with your help, using it well.

I have already spoken to some of you and look forward to meeting more.

So until then, peace, and good Q.
