I live south of Wickenburg. I have a home made smoker i made out of a drum and a fire box from home depot. I smoked a whole hog i raised and butchered my self. Recently a friend gave me a stand up propane smoker that i used last weekend. It turned out great. The information i got from this forum helped a lot. I use to think you needed a lot of smoke, how wrong i was. I also have a 4 burner gas grill a 2' * 3' gas gridle. Huge Cardnals and ASU fan. It makes it a little harder to smoke now that they are on tv every sunday.

From a former resident of AZ (Sierra Vista), welcome to the site bubba.
How's the weather out there? 30% chance of rain everyday or has monsoon season not quite hit yet...

Welcome to SMF. Glad you joined and I agree that there is alot of great information here.

As for you problem not being able to smoke because of sports. Just move the tv on the patio next to the smoker. Problem solved

Great to have you along! Yep, don't need alot of smoke, just enough of the right kind, in the right way. Think of it as any other spice, or condiment. Used correctly it's wonderful, too much and the meat is inedible. How about some pics of that smoker?

Thanks for the introduction, and welcome to the SMF. Plenty of great members from the southwest, so feel at home.

First off welcome to SMF there Bubba. You'll like this place cause there are alot of good people here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Next if you haven't tried the E-course I would highly recommend it. It's free and very informative and it will give you the basics of smoking. the next thing you do is go grab something to smoke and if you have any questions just post them here and we will help you out licky spilt. Then grab your camera and snao some pictures (Qview here) and let us see what your smoking and what your smoking on too. So go get something to smoke.
