Howdy,
My name is Chris, and I live in Chicago, if that wasn't obvious.
I have been grilling for many years, and just moved into smoking/BBQ. Got a CG Smokin Pro for my b-day, and love it. I've already made some great meals on it, thanks to tips I read on this and other sites before picking my grill. I've done all the more or less standard mods to it (grate level thermometer, extending the stack, charcoal basket, baffle), and it's cooking great. I was torn between the WSM and CG, but ultimately picked the CG for the versatility. I'm really happy with my choice. I've also got the 18.5" Weber One Touch for my auxilary grill for veggies/burgers/whatever to go with the BBQ.
Currently grilling with Stubs all natural briquettes and alder, maple, and hickory chunks. Intend to make my first trip to Berger Bros this Wednesday to stock up on lump.
As I go, I'll try to post some pics & start some threads to get pointers from you all and learn as much as I can.
