Hey all, I am an extreme newbie, just got my first smoker, charboil with a
side box, don't have much time in the grilling/smoking area of food but far well everywhere else.

Don't worry about the 'newbie' status-we were all there at the beginning. At least you'll get the benefit of the vast knowledge that you'll find here at SMF.
Grab a cold one, read up and find what you want to try first. Pork butts are always a good one to start out with, as they are a bit more forgiving if you happen to let the smoker get too hot.

Welcome to SMF. Dutch is right pork butts are great to start with and will turn the family onto eating smoked meats if they are not used to them. Just dont forget to look up the recipie on here for the finishing sauce. It is excellent.

Thanks all for the welcome, reading through i have learned a great deal
already. I am venturing out and smoking two whole chickens and some corn on the cobb if i can find it will post on success and pictures
