I've been around for a while now, I just haven't participated much as far as sharing info. Anyway, wanted to share a pic or two of what I had on the smoker but when I tried to attach a pic to a new thread the picture was too large for the forums to handle. 1.48 mb to be exact. Anyone know how I can reduce the size?

Maybe this isn't the easiest way but it works for me. I right click on the image in my "my pictures" file and select "open with" then "paint" Then from paint I just click "save as" and resave this new image under a different name. I then have no problem uploading this new image. Hope this helps

Basically you need a Photo Editor, Paint is one of them. Photoshop another. Irfanview is even another. There are many out there and more than likely you have a couple of them on your computer. Do a Google search for Image Editors but remember that you want no more than 800 x 600 pixels now or we have to scroll right to view all the photo or read all the text.

Hey Pearl,

I also had the same problems when i first tried. I have been using image shack. http://imageshack.us/

You can upload your pictures to this site and then just give the SMF site the address of the picture and BOOM, there it is. I also did the paint thing, but pictures ended up looking washed out. Good Luck!

Get IrfanView to resize, etc. It's free and very easy to use. www.irfanview.com

All the new bazillion megapixels cameras make huge picture files. Like said above, resizing to 800x600 or 640x480 (The original 1M pixel size) should shrink them down to fit through the limits.
