Hello all, typical hamburger and hot dog griller turned smoker. Dad took me to Tennesee few years back and had a Pulled pork sandwich with slaw on top that was damn near a religous experience.(Safe to say the first REAL Q I ever had). Came from a little shack round Sardis. Finally bought an inexpensive smoker and have blundered thru three butts so far. Look foward to learning the basics instead of guessing. I have a "Chargriller" with a side box. I have also done some stuffed Jalepenos.
 
Welcome aboard buttsmoker! Do your homework and read thru the butt smokin posts in here and you'll amaze yourself at how quickly the best pulled pork you ever had comes right out of your back yard!

You should definitely head over to the Pork Forum and study up on Meowey's sticky on Pulled Pork. Follow those instructions and you are guaranteed some of the best pulled pork there is. Glad you joined the forum and be sure to keep practicing. We love to see pics too.
 
Thanks all, I have already been reading up in the Pork section. I do have a question for all near me. I am looking for a good source of hickory. I am currently paying bout 35 bucks for 40 to 50 lbs. Wasnt sure if I could be doing better. Again thanx for the welcome.
