Hello, All!

I have been eyeing smokers for a while now and finally made the step this weekend. I did a couple chickens that turned out very good but ran into some issues with my Brinkmann upright which I found out are fixable/modable. That's great because it is hard on your first try to watch the temp guage struggle to get over 150!

Anyway, it was a good time and great learning experience. I have already seen fixes for most of the issues on this forum and it seems a wonderful place to meet people and discuss this great subject/hobby.

I'll talk at you all later!

Brent

welcome to smf!!!!! ck out the free ecourse... jeffs rub and sauce are killer! cant wait for you to share some qview!!!

Welcome Brent. Is it as hard to smoke as it is to boil water for us closer to sea level??????????????

If you have a brinkmann cabinet style upright then here's the fix...grill wok. I got a stainless basket type wok at Home Depot, fits in the rails perfectly and test fired it at 300 degrees for about 4 hours with no added coals. A little hot but better than 150-175 degrees.
