My brother and I just got the bug and now have our first smoker. We are eager to begin the quest for perfect pork. We have officially kicked off our smoking journey on the holiest of all cook out days the fourth of July, with three racks of pork ribs. we are starting out with a vertical propane fired smoker (just to get our feet wet) using hardwood charcoal and lump hickory. 220 degrees dry rub only until the last hour. then moped on the Sonny Ray's at 15 min. intervals. They turned out well for a first attempet but we still have a lot of smoking to do.
