Hi i am having my first smoke tomorrow and wanted to know if i should fill up my pan to its max 10lbs. and when should i add the wood and how much and how often.tnanks for the help ahead of time

I wouldn't fill up the entire pan, might make the temps too high and will make it difficult to maintain. Try doing a search for the modified minion method, a thread by CinnamonKC. It's a tried and true method to get the most out of your charcoal, and not the entire bag of it at one time!!
