One Cup Cobbler

10" Dutch Oven
1 stick butter
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 can fruit
1/4 tsp vanilla

1 Melt butter in 10 inch Dutch oven.
2 Mix other ingredients in bowl.
3 Pour mixed ingredients into melted butter and add fruit but do not stir.
4 Place lid on Dutch oven, add coals, and cook until top is brown.

This recipe is very versatile and can be altered to most any fruit or combination. I have made this for 500 guests on 2 different occasions.

Cooked in a DO with a scattering of coals on the bottom and heap the lid up.

I was planning to cook it in a camp oven. I was just curious as to the temp that you shot for so that I would know how many coals to use.

WOW Goat! When you say "heap" you mean "HEAP"! icon_eek.gif

I appreciate all your pics and advise on DO's, helps us newbies out a TON!

Thanks! PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif

Thanks. I typically use charcoal with my camp ovens and use the charts to determine temps. I'll play around with it.

I can't help you with the amount of briquet's because I have never used them. I would guess about 350*, if I had to guess.

It sure sounds good goat! Thanks for the recipe, I'll give it a try.PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif

Thanks. That would be 14 on top and 7 on the bottom for me.

Sounds pretty damn good. I might have to get a DO.

Thanks cowgirl, kookie. Camp cookie watch that bottom. The sugar in that cobbler will sure burn if things are a little too hot.

Goat's guess is correct!...Whenever I cook this in the kitchen oven, 350*F is the temp setting I've always used...

Have been making this recipe since back in the early '70's...

Try it...It's delicious!...PDT_Armataz_01_18.gif

I could adjust it and put more of the coals on top. They would probably help brown it.
